INNSMOUTH, MA [June 16, 2021] -- We’ve all found ourselves out on the road, barnstorming through the middle of an all-too-familiar nowhere, moon suggesting its sometime after midnight but definitely before dawn, cruising the highway at a breakneck speed only matched by our pulse. It’s out in this treacherous strip we find Salem Wolves’ wild new music video for “Turn To Gold,” an animated wonder delivered by the sharp pen and sharper mind of Dallas Conte that premieres on YouTube on Wednesday, June 16 at 11 a.m. EDT. The acclaimed Canadian tattoo artist, illustrator, animator -- and former drummer of the Anti-Queens -- lends her impeccable talents to the Wolves’ latest single, creating a hyper-vivid world that aligns nicely with the New England band’s twisted psychotronic garage rock rumble-strip shakedown.
“‘Turn to Gold’ is another slurry of bad experiences and long nights,” says Salem Wolves songwriter and frontman Gray Bouchard. “I wanted to evoke that feeling of stumbling through Kenmore Square at 2 a.m. looking for a slice of pizza after the trains stopped running. Or that kind of performatively careful driving you do when you’re trying not to get pulled over at three in the morning. I like stories about seeing the light before the crash.”
“Turn To Gold” is the latest track to be spotlighted off Salem Wolves’ blistering Fall 2020 EP Never Die!!!, a record that packed six soaring guitar-rock bangers worthy of the title’s three exclamation points. After previous videos -- for “Titanium” and the uncontrollable title track -- were directed by Bouchard himself, the band looked to the north to find a vision that complemented their sonic fury.
“We are big fans of Dallas’ work, and really, we didn’t give her much in the way of direction,” Bouchard admits. “We just asked her to evoke a psychotronic late night drive, strung out and sweating on the open road. A bad trip -- literally and figuratively.”
Bouchard adds: “ What she turned in blew our minds right out our ears. Demonic suns, howling mutant faces, psychedelic transformations -- Dallas captured the feeling of the song in ways we never could have dreamed of.”
Get in the car, everyone, we’re going screaming.

Media praise for Salem Wolves:
“Salem Wolves… add some punk fury to the darkness. What begins as a quiet, mutative track blooms into a rampaging rock ’n’ roll rave-up [‘Titanium’]. Ugh, we need club shows to return and Salem Wolves to headline them so we pump our fists and shout, ‘Cold as titanium.’” _Boston Herald
“Massachusetts-based psychotronic rock band Salem Wolves pull out three exclamation marks!!! on the title track from their new EP. A great sound -- I just ‘discovered’ this band, but they have apparently been tearing up around New England for some time.” _Ear2TheGround
“Once the force of 'Titanium' picks up, the best you can do is hold on for dear life... It's a huge, slick, loud, and heavy rock song." _If It’s Too Loud
"Salem Wolves are here to summon out your inner ache for rugged, and damned riffs that ride out into a thousand sunsets.” _Impose Magazine
“That rumbling heard off in the distance is Salem Wolves. Debut EP ‘Black Books’ [is] a garage-pop and surf-rock mixer that puts a fresh spin on tested sounds... a gritty, hip-shaking number that tumbles along to the imagined sights of a bonfire beach party” _Vanyaland
